Donate to Modern Marimba

At Modern Marimba, access to live music is a shared right.

By making a donation, you stand in solidarity with Modern Marimba to sustain a vibrant, inclusive arts and cultural ecosystem in Southwest Florida. Your contribution directly supports professional artists, equitable education initiatives, and community-centered performances that make the arts accessible.

Equity Guidelines for Donations

Modern Marimba’s work focuses on dismantling barriers that have historically excluded and marginalized people from fully expressing their creativity. Through a collaborative and inclusive approach to education and performance, we offer the possibility to create a musical environment where justice, artistry, and community are in harmony.

We draw inspiration from values-based frameworks that remind us to:

  • Honor and respect all living beings.
  • Center the well-being of our community and the planet.
  • See music not as charity, but as connection.
  • Believe in music as a holistic, transformative experience — not a transaction.
  • Stand for economic, racial, and social justice in all we do.
  • Value artists’ creativity, autonomy, and freedom of expression, and uphold their right to professional, livable wages.
  • Value our donors as partners, building trust through transparency and reciprocity.
  • Recognize and honor time, advocacy, and creativity as meaningful forms of contribution alongside financial gifts.
  • Commit to resolving conflict with care and accountability, using practices such as transformative justice, restorative justice, and mediation.
  • Strengthen collective impact by building relationships with other nonprofits, unions, and mutual aid networks.
